Big PLANS!!! A farm is born.

Can you hear that? That is the sound of my *SQUEEEEEEE* of excitement!
For the last 8 years I have dabbled in gardening, sustainable living, off the grid homesteads, and other assorted Hippie-esque activities. I know, too many hobbies, blah blah blah.

Yesterday, immediately following AnachroCon 2012, I had the brilliant idea of stopping to see my nearest and dearest, Ben and Sunshine.

Hungover, sleep deprived, still a bit giddy from the Con, I found the radiant ball of energy known as Sunshine huffing and puffing away at this:

And since I'm a girl that can't resist a shovel (reason # 45,602 why I might have been dropped on my head at birth), We started doing this:

So low and behold, I find myself stumbled into a new PLAN! I can't live without a Plan. or Something To Do.

Step 1: Break back trying to dislodge the horror known as Red Georgia Clay.

Step 2: Add 2 truck loads of horse shit, 2 truck loads of compost

Step 3: Buy a tractor

Step 4: Make tractor work

Step 5: Haul ass around the property in working tractor.

Step 6: Catch air while flying down a hill.

Step 7: Realize that wasn't very smart. Do not repeat.

Step 8: Till til ya drop

Step 9: Build a cool trellis out of bamboo. Get really nerdy designing the irrigation system.

Step 10: Get drunk and shop online for seeds.

Step 11: Receive seeds in the mail. Curse self for drunk shopping AGAIN.

Step 12: Add chicks

To Be Continuuuuuuuuuuuuuued.

2012. Has it been that long?

Looking back at my last 2 entries really reminds me how quickly life can change. I am 2 classes away from my masters degree in Aviation Technology. I've been working full time for just over a year, still doing accounting and bookkeeping for, but I'm keeping my options open because aviation is what I truly yearn for. Family is good. I still have too many hobbies. The downstairs roommate will be moving out next month, though I am sad to see him go, he is moving in with the girlfriend and this is good. Oh blah di blah da.

Don't you hate it when....

Live just passes you by? I find that happening a lot, but lately, I've had some room to breathe (literally) and came to a point of clarity. I'm ready to wake up and get back to the real path I've always been intended for.

It's been over 8 months since I've written anything down like this, so here is my semi-annual life update: The roommates are gone, and a new resident has taken up downstairs in our basement. He's a good guy and he's almost never here so it's going great so far. Still no good solid job, but lots of scattered work here's and there's, plus I've made some new friends. Knox is getting wilder and smarter every day, so soon it will be time to get him back into a group setting, if only part time. Randy is ready to switch places and be a stay home parent while I work and go to school.

School, ah there's a big change. I'm back. Again. Srsly?, you might find yourself asking "isn't 6 years of college enough already? you want to add 3.5 more?" Yes, I say, bring on the student debt! Increase my earning potential! Stress myself out well into my 30s! This kiddos, is proof I'm into punishing myself in a twisted, satisfying way.
